[In case of incliment weather, the range portion will be move to an
indoor range]

presentation covering safe storage, ammunition, shooting fundamentals,
mental
awareness, avoiding confrontations, contacting and greeting the police,
written
exam and shooting qualification. The written exam requires a 80% score
out of
100 points and the shooting qualification requires a 70% score out of
100 points.
Course includes a handout containing the
required Colorado Revised Statues.
Student supplies handgun, 2
magazines or speedloader [3 are
better but not required], 55 cartridges for the shooting qualification,
5 cartridges for pre-qualification evlaulation.
Handgun can be
any caliber, to include 22Rimfire and any
sighting system to include optics.
Renewal Requirements: El
Paso County
Renewals must include the original proof of training certificate dated
within 6 months of the renewal application receipt date.
Copies of certificates will NOT be accepted.[other counties may have
different requirements]
Expired permits have a 6-month grace period in which to renew.
Applications received after the 6-month grace period will not be
processed and will be returned.
Renewal applications may be submitted no more than 120 days prior to
the expiration date.
Renewal applications submitted prior to the 120 days before expiration
date will be returned.
Renewals can be either mailed and hand delivered
